Tuesday 9/1
  • Helping Hands from 9:00 - 3:00
  • The Annual Ministers & Sunday School Teachers Dinner -  will be at the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 PM
Wednesday 9/2 - Conference Tapes - "Walking Carefully and in Holiness" by Bro. Brad Eisenmann/Chicago followed by Bro. Tom providing a brief summary of the elder meetings.
Saturday 9/5 - Testimonies for Adam and Jackie Knepp at 7:00
Sunday 9/6 - Baptisms - The food sign up sheet for the baptisms is on the bulletin board
Sunday 9/27 - Invite-a-Guest - All are welcome to participate by inviting a guest, couple, or family from another congregation to Roanoke church for the day.  There will be a potluck supper at 4:00 at the Fellowship Hall, and a singing will promptly follow the supper.  Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin boards.  Any questions can be directed to sisters Cathy Hohulin or Jennifer Feucht.

Thursday-Saturday 9/10,11,12 - Local World Relief Project  - There will be World Relief work project to re shingle a roof September 10, 11, and 12. Please put these dates on your calendar. Details will follow.
Wednesday 9/9 High School Worship on Wednesday -  The first Worship on Wednesday for our high school students will be at the Luginbuhl's home.
Friday 9/11 - Sunday School singing at Morton Home of the Handicapped - the 7th & 8th grade Sunday School teachers and students will be going to sing at the Morton Home for the Handicapped at 7:00 PM. They will meet at the Commerce Bank parking lot at 6:10 PM. The students families are welcome to attend.

Wednesday 8/26 - Conference Tapes - Bro. Tom will read the elders conclusion from their 5 year study on “Discipline, Restoration and Reinstatement”  This will be followed by a recording of Bro. Mark Streitmatter’s (Bloomington) conference talk on “Walking in Submission to Correction” which provides additional explanations.

Sunday 8/16
  • 3 Year Old Sunday School Class - Today is the last day to sign up 3 yr old Sunday School students so they can be added to the Sunday School roster for this year. . They need to  be 3 years old before Sept. 1st.
  • Family Hymn Sing at the Nursing Home at 1:30
  • “The New Beginnings” Presentation at the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 - Gridley Church has been invited to join our Roanoke Church to learn about “The New Beginnings,” a program to assist single moms in the Ft. Myer’s, Florida area.  Bro. Dustin Hodel, the administrative assistant, will be giving the presentation.
  • The Yordy Family - Today is the last Sunday for the Yordys to worship with us before they head back to Haiti on Monday. 

Tuesday 8/17 – Midwest Food Bank 6:30-8:30 - This Tuesday evening is Roanoke's opportunity to help at Midwest Food Bank in Bloomington. A group of 25-30 is needed to help repackage food for distribution to those in need. Contact Bro. Mike Hoffman of any questions.
 
Wednesday 8/19 - Conference Tapes - The Conference theme was “Walking with Christ.”  We will be listening to the first two speakers:  Bro. Rick Plattner (Fairbury) on “Walking in the Strength of His Sacrifice” and Bro. John Laukhuf (Latty) on “Walking in a Living Faith.”
Friday/Saturday 8/21-22 – The Nursing Home Benefit –  There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board for pies, angel food cakes, coffee and pop donations. There is also a sign-up sheet for clean up after the benefit We appreciate items for the bake sale and the farmer’s market. We are looking for men & boys to help set up tables and chairs in the auction and food tents on Thursday evening (8/20) beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Nursing Home Social Service Coordinator Position - The Nursing Home is seeking someone for the position of Social Service Coordinator to oversee admissions and discharges as well as be a liaison between families, staff and residents.  For additional information, please see Bro. Richard Isaia.

Atlanta Church Thank You -  “...thanks for the very generous gift the Roanoke church sent to help us fund our church building and remodeling project.  We are nearing completion of our remodeling and look forward to Open House and Dedication the weekend of 8/22 and 8/23. It would be wonderful if some of the Roanoke brethren would join us for that weekend.”  If you are interested please contact Bro. Tom Waldbeser.
