Prayer -  Our Nursing Home and Gateway Woods There have been several cases of COVID.  Pray for wisdom as they navigate this pandemic

  • Roanoke Home - 2 residents have tested positive this week.  They have not shown any symptoms.  The Home asks for continued prayer and that COVID can be contained.  They are humbled by your continued prayers and support.

  • Gateway Woods - Thankfully none of the cases have been severe

Job Openings

  • Gateway Woods - Houseparents and Assistant Houseparents. If anyone is interested or wants more info they can talk to Bro. Dustin or Sis. Mandy Hodel.

  • LifePoints - Executive Director - Due to the pending retirement of Bro. Ron Messner, LifePoints is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director. We encourage those who have an interest, are qualified, and have a heart for serving the intellectually and developmentally disabled community, to prayerfully consider submitting an expression of interest and resume. We ask our entire church body to be prayerful as we work through this very important process involving one of the primary mission activities of our church.

Fellowship/Snack Time

For our next phase, we plan to change the way we do church snack by using a modified funeral dinner format

  • Prayer for the snack will be included in the final prayer in the sanctuary.

  • People will be ushered out the east and west doors and pick up their snack and water on the islands in the kitchen and then proceed to the tables (leaving one stool between family and/or social group)

  • Coffee will be served at the tables.

  • Each table will have one waitperson who will pour coffee.  Masks will be required for the waitperson while serving.  If you are willing to serve coffee or help make coffee, please sign up on the bulletin board

  • Two express lines for drinks only will also be available.  Coffee or water will be located on carts at the east and west ends of the north hall.

  • Parents of 3 year olds - 2nd grade will continue to be dismissed first from church to pick up your children by the NE stairs. There will be a snack table in the northeast corner of the dining room where you can get snacks. Children should sit at the two east tables in the dining room.

Since we are moving our fellowship inside, physical distancing will be more difficult. We encourage the use of masks in the hallways when you cannot physically distance.  As always, we encourage the use of masks during singing.

Other Ways to Serve - The Silver Lining has been featuring special topical sections with submissions from our  readers. You are encouraged to contribute. The next topic is: How has your walk of  faith been enriched by fellowshipping with believers of other generations? One of the distinctive blessings of our brotherhood is the opportunity for cross generational friendships as young, middle-aged, and old worship together and  fellowship together each week. Let’s encourage one another with stories of how this  has touched our lives! Please send your contributions (length: no more than 600 words) on this topic to  features@acsilverlining.org by November 16, 2020. For questions or assistance,  contact Bro.
