Sunday 3/31 - Pre-Communion Message on Sunday Afternoon - Communion Service will be on Palm Sunday, April 14th at 6:00 PM

Wednesday 4/3
  • Gateway Woods Presentation at the Fellowship Hall - This will be in place of our Wednesday evening services. Bros Chad Kaeb and Dustin Hodel will present an informative update of the ministry and mission of Gateway Woods.
  • WOW will meet at the Fellowship Hall - for the Gateway Woods presentation
  • ACTIVE will Meet in the Bible Class room
  • HOPE will Meet in the Church Kitchen

Thursday 4/4 - Helping Hands is rescheduled for Thursday 4/11 from 9:00-3:00

Saturday 4/6
  • Roanoke Cemetery Cleanup at 8:00 AM -  Please bring rakes, weed trimmers, chain saws, large garbage containers and lots of weed trimmers.
  • Midwest Food Bank Gala Auction at 6:45 PM -  at their location in Normal. This is their primary fundraiser for the year and everyone is welcome to attend.

Sunday 4/7
  • Collection for the Silver Lining -. Roanoke church pays $18 for each subscription on the Roanoke list. Thank you for your contribution.
  • Spring ACYF Day - The Bible Class will be hosted by Washington.  The first part of the day will be spent at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall and the afternoon worship service and song program will be at Washington.  Students should plan to meet at the RBHS parking lot at 8:30AM.

Friday 4/12 - Nursing Home Drive Through Fish Fry from 4:30-7:00

Easter Week
  • 4/14 Palm Sunday
    • Palm Sunday Service - Song service begins at 9:45 AM followed by a program with songs from the Youth Choir and the Prairie Choristers and a message covering Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem through the last supper.  There will be no Sunday School in the morning
    • Sunday School Easter program at 12:15
    • Communion at 6:00 PM
  • 4/19 Good Friday Service - Song service begins at 7:15 PM followed by a program with songs from Prairie Choristers and a message on Jesus’s trial and death.
  • 4/21 Easter Sunday
    • Sunrise Service - Song service begins at 7:15 AM followed by a program with songs from the Youth Choir and the Prairie Choristers and a message on Jesus’ resurrection
    • Breakfast at 8:30
    • 2nd Service - Song service begins at 9:45 (Sunday School will be held in the basement as usual)

Thursday 4/25 - Heartline/Heart House Annual Spaghetti Supper 3:30-7:30 - Donated baked items should be at Heart House by noon on the 25th.

Saturday 4/27 - LifePoints Gospel Sing at Five Points from 5:15pm to 8:00pm - This is an evening where you can sit back and enjoy various musical talent in addition to a personal testimony from the mother of one of our residents. Nursing Home - Victory Home Care  - will begin services very soon.  We are actively looking for compassionate caregivers to assist us in caring for seniors that choose to remain in their own homes.  This is a paid position. This service is a joint venture between the Roanoke and Eureka Homes and will serve the Woodford, Tazewell and Marshall counties.  Caregivers do not have to be a C.N.A. or have prior experience, as training will be provided.  We are looking for caring individuals that have a desire to serve the senior population. .  If you feel this is a way you could be used to help advance the senior care options that the Home offers, please contact the Home for more information. 



3/24/19 Announcements

Monday 3/25 - Nursing Home Craft Project RSVP Due Date- Volunteers who enjoy doing crafts are needed to help with the centerpieces for the upcoming Mother’s Day Luncheon at our nursing home in May. A Book Folding tutorial class will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 in the multi-purpose room at the Home. Light refreshments will be served following the approximately one-hour long class to make this project. RSVPs would be appreciated by March 25 to Activity Director Deb Reilman at 923-2071 ext. 170 or emailing deb@achroanoke.org.

Wednesday 3/27 - Forgiveness and Fasting - Sermon on the Mount Series - Matt 6:14-18 (Bro. Frank Sauder) - Memory Verse: “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:15

  • WOW  - will be joining the Goodfield Bible Class. Students can meet in the church parking lot at 6:30 sharp, as we will be carpooling over to Goodfield together.
  • HOPE -  is meeting in the Bible Class room at 7:30

On-Line Giving - Our on-line giving host has released a new, cleaner giving form for both the website and mobile app.  Please check it out and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement by emailing donations@roanokeacchurch.org.
Also: For added convenience, in addition to credit card and ACH bank transfers, they are now accepting donations using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Windows Pay.

Thank You - It was a blessing to see so many work together during our annual church cleaning. The trustees want to thank each one that made the effort to come and help. Please check the lost and found tables for any items you may have left at church or at the fellowship hall in the past year.


3/10/19 Announcements

Sunday 3/10 - All Church Pizza Party & Scripture Memory Program at 5:30. - Sign up sheets for those attending & for food donations are on the north hall bulletin board. Everyone in church is invited to come for pizza & to hear the Scripture Memory program.

Monday 3/11 - Annual Church Cleaning - Church cleaning will be Monday from 9 until 2 (lunch provided) and in the evening beginning at 6 until completion. There are still some Sunday School tables and chairs left from the basement remodel. If anyone would like some before they are disposed of talk to Bro Jim Braker.There a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for food donations for church cleaning.

3/13 Wednesday - Sermon on the Mount Series - “Teach us to Pray” Matt 6:9-13 - (Bro. Chad Leman/Fairbury  cleman78@gmail.com)  Memory Verse:  “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

College Care Packages - As a church body we would like to remember our college student’s by praying for them, encouraging them and sending them a small care package.  When we did this last fall, it was a huge blessing to the students and we would like to do it again this spring. If you would like to participate,  you can pick up a colored envelope from the back hall bulletin board regarding your college students name and information.

Thank You - The trustees of the Fellowship Hall want to thank all who helped with the cleaning Monday during the day and evening.  The turnout was wonderful, and your willingness was really appreciated.

Monday 3/4 - The Fellowship Hall Cleaning -  We will be there from 8:30 to 11:30 AM, and in the evening from 6 to 8 PM.  We appreciate everyone's support.

On-Line Giving - At the request from some in our congregation, we wanted to let everyone know that on-line giving is now available.  You can access this through a link at the top center of our website or go directly to this page: http://roanokeacchurch.org/pages/giving
  • There are also links on this page to download a mobile app so you can create an account and give conveniently from your phone.
  • If desired you can also set up recurring donations on a regular schedule.    
  • You can select up to 4 funds to donate towards at one time if you are logged into your account that you created. (You are not required to create an account if you don't want to or if you are just making a one-time on-line donation.)
  • You can give through your credit card (~3% transaction fee) or an ACH bank transfer (~1% transaction fee) by using the buttons at the bottom of the donation form.  
  • There is an option on the form to allow you to cover the credit card and processing fees if you desire, but this is certainly not required for you to use the on-line donation option.  Or, if you prefer, please feel free to continue to drop checks or money off in the collection boxes in the hallway.
