Wednesday 8/30 - Conference Messages will Start this Wednesday Evening

Saturday 9/23 - Ladie’s Day - "Bridging the Gap" will be the theme for Ladies' Day. It will be a day of cross-generational interaction, fellowship and encouragement through talks and discussions for all women, high school age and above, who attend Roanoke church. This event will be held at the fellowship hall from 9:15 to 2:00, with registration and a coffee bar from 8:45 to 9:15. Please sign up on the bulletin board by September 10, or RSVP to the email you will receive. If you have questions, please contact sisters: Jill Sauder or Kathy Sauder.

Missionary Support Cards - HarvestCall has recently produced a new resource called Missionary Support Card Packs.  Each Pack included a card with a photo and contact information for each missionary or missionary family serving on the field.  The intent is for these to facilitate prayer and relational support for our missionaries.  A sample pack and sign-up sheet is on the north hall bulletin board for those who are interested in receiving one.  A new supply of packs have arrived so if you signed up for one last Sunday and did not get it yet please see Bro. Jim Braker over the lunch hour and he will give you yours.

Thank You - The Nursing Home Board of Directors and Administration want to express our sincere thanks to the church for all your support for our 2017 Homecoming Day benefit.  Whether you bought a meal,  donated or bought an auction item, brought items for the bake sale or Farmers Market or helped out in any way, you made it a very successful benefit.  May God bless each of you for giving to our elderly so generously.

  • Family Mission Night at the Fellowship Hall 7:00 - 8:00 PM - Come and journey around the world as you hear Bro. Scott and Sis. Mandy give an update about their work in Haiti, Sis. Rachel Fehr about her experience in the U. A. E. and Bro. Fred and Sis. Jodi share about their calling to serve as a helicopter pilot in Papua New Guinea.
  • Bloomington Church Welcome - All incoming and returning students at Illinois State University, Heartland Community College, or Illinois Wesleyan, and their parents, are invited to a Welcome Dinner at the Bloomington church at 4:00 pm.

August 25-26 - Annual Homecoming Day Benefit for the Nursing Home - There are signup sheets on the bulletin board for pop, pies & servers and a cleanup committee. We need men and boys to  help set up tables and chairs in the tents on Thursday evening at 6:00.  We also need women and some men on Friday morning until noon to help with preparations.  Please consider coming to lend a helping hand.

Patsy Kaeb at the Nursing Home to see how you can help.

Sunday School
  • Sign Up for 3 year old Sunday School - There is a signup sheet on the north hall bulletin board for all students who will be three years of age by Sept 1st will be removed after church today.
  • Monday 8/21 - Sunday School Teachers/Ministers Annual Meeting at 6:00 - It will be at the Fellowship Hall. If you are a teacher and have not received communication about this, please contact Bro. Jon or Sis. Jill Fehr.

Thank You
  • Bro. Benjamin Mangold expresses his greetings, love and utmost gratitude for all who have prayed, mailed him notes of encouragement and packages of goodies. He hopes all understand he isn't able to mail individual thank you notes.
  • Conference - We want to thank you all for the wonderful support and many hours of work throughout the planning and execution of the conference. It has been such a blessing and joy to watch so many use their specific God given talents and gifts to serve.  We truly enjoyed the week working together with our church family.   May God bless you all.

Sunday 8/6 - Collection for ACCFS

August 8-11 Brotherhood Conference
  • Prayer - As we prepare for the final days, please remember to pray for the conference and that God will be glorified and the church body strengthened as the elders discuss the concerns and issues facing believers today.  Your prayers for the deliberations of the meetings are appreciated.
  • Volunteer Schedule - For those who haven’t picked up their volunteer schedules, we will have them in the North Hall during lunch today.  
  • Monday Set Up Crew - the rental equipment will be here by 10am. Lunch will be provided.
  • Friday Volunteer Parking
    • if your shift to volunteer is before 9:00 AM on Friday, please meet at the Mennonite church and there will be shuttles to bring you to church.  The shuttles will be available then when you need to get back to your vehicle.  If that is a hardship for anyone, please come to church to park.  If possible, please carpool on Friday to limit the number of cars.
    • For those whose shift begins after 9:00 AM, we are planning to have you park at the church, however, if the church lot is full, we will send out an email instructing you where to park – most likely at the Mennonite church and the shuttles will be available.

Monday 8/21 - Harvest Call Haiti Dairy Program Benefit Dinner - This fund raiser for the Good Vision Farm will be held at  Fair Oaks Farm in the Farm House Restaurant Conference Center at 3:00 CDT  A flyer with details is posted on the North Hall bulletin board.   Seating is limited so please RSVP by August 10.  If you have any questions about this interesting and informative event or the Haiti Dairy Program/Good Vision Farm contact Bro. Brent Hodel.
