Sunday 10/15 - Peoria Rescue Mission Services -  We are conducting the morning worship service at the Peoria Rescue Mission. Brother Tim Hohulin will be conducting the service.  We are in need of a piano player and some help singing.  Please contact Bro Tim Martin if you can help.  The service starts at 8 am, so there will be plenty of time to return for our own worship service.

Wednesday 10/18 - Nursing Home Update - The Board of Directors and the Administration at the nursing home would like to hold an update meeting on Wed. Oct. 18th at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall.  This meeting is intended to update the congregation on key financial information, occupancy trends, and volunteer opportunities.  Please plan to attend this meeting as your presence would be very much appreciated.

Saturday 11/4 - Harvest Dinner at 6:30 - The Bible Class will be hosting a Harvest Dinner to raise funds for their work trip to Jamaica next spring. To support this endeavor, please make your reservations by October 25 by phone, text or email to Sis. Jenny Hodel. A minimum donation of $40 per person will be collected the night of the dinner. If desired, table reservations for groups of eight can be made and valet parking will be available.

Friday 11/10 - The Apostolic Christian HarvestCall Benefit Auction for Hospital Lumiere - will be held at Five Points in Washington. The food court and silent auction start at 4:30. The live auction begins at 7:00.   • Lost and Found - Dishes left after the conference are in the Lost and Found area.  If not picked up by today, they will be removed.

Wednesday 9/27 - Topical Study - Unmet Expectations by Bro. Arlan Miller (Gridley) - We all have hopes and dreams for our lives.  What happens when those dreams don’t materialize?  How do we respond when God does not give us what we had hoped for?

  • H.O.P.E. - Welcome Night from 6:30-8:30 at Bro. Brett and Sis. Laura Hodels
  • Worship on Wednesday - Welcome wiener Roast at Bro. Stephen and Sis. Susan Bertschi's timber. All Bible Class students are invited to attend. Please note the event will start at 6:30pm. This is 1/2 hour earlier than the normal WOW start time.

Saturday 9/23 - Ladies’ Day - A day of cross-generational day interaction, fellowship and encouragement will be held at the fellowship hall from 9:15 to 2:00, with registration and a coffee bar starting at 8:45. If you did not sign up but would like to attend, please contact sisters Jill Sauder or Kathy Sauder by tomorrow. Please keep this day in your prayers this week.

Volunteer Bus Drivers Needed for the Home - Drivers are needed to transport residents to doctor appointments and various activity outings.  They are hoping to find several individuals to participate so the need will only be once or twice per month for each volunteer.    You are required to have a J05 license, but it is very easy to obtain.  If you think this would be a way you could help our Home or would like more information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sis. Patsy Kaeb.

Prairie Choristers/Youth Choir - A Christmas program is planned for Wednesday night, December 20. The choirs will soon begin practicing for this. Anyone interested in singing in one of the choirs should send an email to Brother Phil Hodel at plhodel@gmail.com

  • The Youth Choir will begin practicing on Sunday morning, September 24th at 9:24 a.m. It is for those aged third grade through senior in high school.

Sunday 9/17 - Fall ACYF Day in Washington - Bible class students are to meet at the Roanoke High School at 8:45am sharp. The teachers and song leaders depend on a strong participation from our young men and women and encourage each parent to help support the four ACYF programs held each year".

Friday 9/8 - The 7th grade and 8th grade students and their families are planning on attending an Evening Hymn Sing at Timber Ridge. They will meet at 6:10pm at Commerce Bank in Roanoke. Singing begins at 7:00pm. The students and families are then invited to Bro. Drew and Sis. Amanda Leman's parent's home in Morton for pizza. The student's whose families are unable to attend will be given a ride home. It will be a day of cross-generational interaction, fellowship and encouragement through talks and discussions for all women, high school age and above, who attend Roanoke church. This event will be held at the fellowship hall from 9:15 to 2:00, with registration and a coffee bar from 8:45 to 9:15. Please sign up on the bulletin board by September 10, or RSVP to the email you received. If you have questions, please contact sisters: Jill Sauder or Kathy Sauder.

Hurricane Harvey Update.  Midwest Food Bank is assisting in the immediate needs from Hurricane Harvey.  HarvestCall will be directly involved in the future with the cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Although HarvestCall is not a first responder, they do provide financial support to organizations who are first responders and have given Midwest Food Bank $100,000 to help with the immediate needs.  Checks can be made out to Harvest Call with "Disaster Relief" in the memo or to Midwest Food Bank.  There will also be opportunities for volunteers to help package items in the coming weeks as this will be a long-term effort.  Most importantly please pray for the following:
  • For those who are suffering from this disaster.
  • For first responders working to evacuate those who are stranded.
  • For safety and passage for those delivering aid.
  • For hearts to recognize that God is the source of help in need and that He will be praised!

AC Medconnect -  There is a network of Apostolic Christian medical practitioners who are available to connect with Apostolic Christian pre-health students.  Additional information is available on the bulletin board or in the e-mail announcements.
