We plan to hear the testimonies of John Luginbuhl and Hannah Sauder on Saturday, January 19th at 7:00pm and baptisms, Lord willing, on Sunday January 20th.

● 2013 Rotating Potluck - The sign up sheet for the 2013 rotating potluck will be taken
down today. If you want to be added to list, please sign up on the sheet posted in the
back (North) hall over the lunch hour.
 
Wednesday 12/12
● ACTIVE - The ACTIVE boys will be going Christmas shopping this Wednesday. They will
be shopping for toys for the Heart House in Eureka. Each boy should bring some of their
own money to put towards the shopping expense. The boys should meet at 6:30 in the
Commerce Bank parking lot. They will be brought back to our church after shopping.
● Bible Class - The Bible Class is meeting this Wednesday at 7:00 at the Fellowship Hall.
We will be baking cookies, wrapping presents and practicing Christmas Program songs.
We should be finished around 8:30.

The 12th Annual All Church Christmas Caroling and Supper is today. For those who have
signed up to carol, there is a list posted on the north hall bulletin board with your group number
and where you will be singing. Please be at the Fellowship Hall at 4:00.

Monday 12/3 - Bloodmobile at the American Legion from 12:00-6:00

Tuesday 12/4 - Helping Hands
The last Helping Hands for this year will be Tuesday from 9:00-3:00 in the church basement.
Lunch is provided.

Wednesday 12/5
Business Meeting - The Annual Church and Nursing Home Business Meeting will this
Wednesday in place of church services. The Trustees encourage all to make an effort to
support this meeting with your attendance.
Scripture Memory Class - Scripture Memory Christmas Party that will be held this
Wednesday at the Roanoke Apostolic Nursing Home. We ask that each student "checkin"
along with their parent in the lobby, before delivering their gift to their resident. Gifts
should be delivered between 6:45 - 7:15. Immediately following church services, please
pick up your child in the back of the nursing home at the multipurpose room.
HOPE - HOPE will meet this Wednesday at 7:30 in the World Relief room. The girls can
be picked up after church.

A Medical Committee has recently been established within World Relief.  This committee is requesting anyone who has or is currently pursuing a career in a medical or dental field to fill out the brand new questionnaire on the World Relief Website.  The purpose of this questionnaire is to establish a registry of health care providers that the Medical Committee will use to keep you updated with information on medical activities and opportunities within World Relief.  To register, please go the the World Relief website at www.acworldrelief.org once there, click on the “Health Care Provider Registry” link found below the sub heading “How You Can Help”.  If you have any concerns or questions regarding this, please send your email to medical@acwr.org  Thank you in advance

     Special Collection for Fellowship Hall - The Fellowship Hall trustees are looking to replace and upgrade the existing sound system as the present one is quite old and has several drawbacks and limitations.  The approximate cost is a little under $10,000. Thank you for your support.
     Thanksgiving Family Singing - The Thanksgiving Sing is planned for this evening at the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 pm.  There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for refreshments and workers.

The volunteering opportunity listed on the monthly church calendar for this Tuesday evening, Nov. 20, at Midwest Food Bank had to be cancelled due to a scheduling conflict at the food bank.

Please be assured that Midwest Food Bank greatly appreciates the support our church gives with this quarterly Tuesday evening group of volunteers that come down to help, the financial contributions, as well as the ladies who help prepared food for the lunch that is served during their monthly loadout/distribution week and those who come down to assist during this very busy week. Sunday 11/11 - ACYF at Morton

Morton is hosting ACYF tonight.  Bible Class students should meet at 4:50 at the high school.  The group will leave at 5:00.

 

Wednesday 11/14 - ACTIVE

     SMC - A reminder that Scripture Memory Class is this Wednesday night. The children will be packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Any items to donate for this project should be sent with your child by this Wednesday night.

     ACTIVE - The ACTIVE boys will be meeting this Wednesday in the church basement at 7:30 pm. Please note the following time change: We are also planning on meeting on Saturday, November 17 at 1:00 PM at the Commerce church parking lot to rake leaves for several people. The boys should be done by 3:00 PM and will be taken home.

Friday 11/16 - Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped at F.H. at 7:00

The Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped with be giving a presentation this Friday, at 7:00 p.m. in the Roanoke Fellowship Hall. The purpose of the presentation is to update you on the services of the Home, the ways the Lord has blessed it and their current needs. Everyone is invited. The Home is a mission of the Apostolic Christian Church and they encourage you to come and learn about what you are supporting.

Sunday 11/4 - World Relief Collection

Tuesday 11/6 - Helping Hands from 9:00-3:00. 

Wednesday 11/7
     Scripture Memory Class - The Scripture Memory Class will again be preparing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is a program that delivers gifts packed in a shoebox to needy children locally and around the world. Each student had been given a letter which listed some items they could donate for this project.  Please have your children bring the items to their class this Wednesday.
     HOPE - HOPE girls will be meeting this Wednesday to go Christmas shopping for The Heart House and out for pizza. The girls should meet at Commerce Bank at 5:30.  If possible, please have the girls bring $20 for the Christmas gifts. The girls will then be brought back to church by 8:30.
     High School Worship on Wednesday - Worship on Wednesday for our high school students will be at 7:00 pm at Bro. Curt and Sis. Jenell Hodels house.

Child Sponsorship
The mission of the Apostolic Christian World Relief Child Sponsorship program is to provide a Christ-centered education for needy children.  The program serves over 1,500 students in five distressed countries.  If you are not already involved in child Sponsorship, please pick up one of the new brochures in the North Hall and consider how you and your family can make a lifetime and eternal difference in the life of a child.

Baking Opportunity for Nursing Home
There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board for volunteers to bring in cookies and birthday cakes each month in 2013.  These birthday cakes do NOT have to be professionally decorated.  This is a great opportunity to help out the residents by working in your own kitchen.

Sunday 10/28 - PM Service - Bro. Ron Messner  - Christ's Message to Philadelphia

Wednesday 10/31 - Fall Harvest Party at 7:00 at the Fellowship Hall
The Roanoke Young Group will again be sponsoring a Fall Harvest Party at the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, October 31st from 7:00-8:30.  Each student is to bring one pound of individually wrapped candy.  There will be games, singing, and snacks provided. 

Friday 11/2 - Hospital Lumiere Benefit Auction at Five Points
To raise awareness and provide financial support for Hospital Lumiere in Haiti, a benefit auction is planned this Friday November 2nd at Five Points in Washington, Illinois. The food court and silent auction will begin at 5:30pm. The live auction will start at 7:00pm.

Sunday 11/4
     World Relief Collection
     Bible Class Leaves High School at 7:00 for Peoria County Jail Services
The Bible Class will be going to participate in services at the Peoria County Jail next Sunday, November 4.  We will eat lunch as a group and return to Roanoke around 1:00 p.m.  We will provide rides home for those students who need them.  Students should be at the high school ready to leave at 7:00 a.m.

Child Sponsorship
The mission of the Apostolic Christian World Relief Child Sponsorship program is to provide a Christ-centered education for needy children.  The program serves over 1,500 students in five distressed countries.  If you are not already involved in child Sponsorship, please pick up one of the new brochures in the North Hall and consider how you and your family can make a lifetime and eternal difference in the life of a child.

Baking Opportunity for Nursing Home
There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board for volunteers to bring in cookies and birthday cakes each month in 2013.  These birthday cakes do NOT have to be professionally decorated.  This is a great opportunity to help out the residents by working in your own kitchen.

     Scripture Memory Begins

     Worship on Wednesday - The next Worship on Wednesday will be at Bro. Chad and Sis. Brenda Martin's house this Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00.

     Continuation of the Conference Message - This Wednesday evening we will continue listening to the Brotherhood Conference Messages.  The next topic would be Christ's Message to Philadelphia by Bro. Ron Messner.  We've invited him to Roanoke to give this talk in person.  This will been done for our Sunday afternoon service on October 28.   So, this Wednesday we will begin with Christ's Message to Laodicea (Bro. Brad Eisenmann) and Our Responsibility to the Lord's Warnings to the Church (Bro. Mike Leman).

 

Friday 10/5 - Home for the Handicapped Presentation at the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 PM

The Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped will be giving a presentation October 5 at 7 pm in the Roanoke Fellowship Hall. The purpose of the presentation is to update you on the services of the Home, the ways the Lord has blessed it and their current needs. Everyone is invited. The Home is a mission of the Apostolic Christian Church and they encourage you to come and learn about what you are supporting.

     ACYF in Cissna Park - ACYF is today at Cissna Park.  The Bible Class will be traveling by bus.  The bus will be leaving the Roanoke Benson High School parking lot at 2:15 Sunday afternoon.  Please arrive a few minutes early. We expect the bus to return to the high school around 9:30 – 9:45.
     Small Group Bible Study on Forgiveness Sign up Deadline - A small group Bible study on forgiveness will begin in October.  There will be 8 sessions with each session lasting approximately 1 hr. and 15 min.  Each member and friend of our church is encouraged to participate. Please sign up by filling out a sheet in the back hall or by e-mailing brothers John Getz or Rob Luginbuhl. Today is the last day for sign up.

     Men's Singing Group - For those interested in a men's singing group, there will be a brief informational meeting today at 11:30 in the intermediate Sunday School room.
     Family Hymn Sing at the Nursing Home at 1:30
     Peoria Rescue Mission at 7:30 - Roanoke is scheduled to have church services at the Peoria Rescue Mission at 7:30 pm. this evening.  (Please note the start time has been changed from 6:00  to 7:30.)  There is still a need for people to support this ministry.  Anyone willing to take part, please contact  Bro. John or Sis. Jill Bradle.
Wednesday 9/19
     ACTIVE - The Jr. High boys in ACTIVE will meet this Wednesday evening. They will meet downstairs in the World Relief Room. They are asked to bring 2 packages of pillowcases.
     Worship on Wednesday - The next Worship On Wednesday for our high school students will be this Wednesday at 7PM at Bro. Todd and Sis. Andrea Harris's home. We are beginning to occasionally change locations, so we would ask the parents and students to be mindful of this. The times and locations of the Worship On Wednesday evenings are also located on the church calendars. If you have any questions please call Bro. Scott Luginbuhl.
     Crown Biblical Financial Study Sign Up Deadline - It has been five years since the Roanoke Church first conducted the Crown Biblical Financial Principles Bible Study.  A sign-up sheet has been posted on the north hall bulletin board for those who may be interested in participating in the study.  Please sign up by this Wednesday, Sept.  19th
