Prayer
  • The R-B School Board has a special meeting on Monday to discuss plans for starting up the school year.  They have a very difficult task ahead of them trying to work through state mandates and trying to meet the widely varied opinions of students, parents and teachers. May we as a church not only keep them in our prayers, but extend to them encouragement and grace.
  • Flooding - Those who have been impacted by the flooding.  May God guide them through the difficult decisions as they recover. - A special update on how you can help will be provided after the 10:30 service.

July’s Collection - Nursing Home -  Thank you so much for supporting the local mission of our church.  Your donations are always very much appreciated, and necessary to meet the ever growing costs of caring for our senior church members and community.  Here is a link to some testimonies given at our Homecoming Benefit the past three years https://www.achroanoke.org/testimonials

Nursing Home Homecoming Benefit - There have been many changes this year at the Home..….difficult changes for our staff and especially our residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  One of the big and difficult decisions that we had to make is that our Homecoming Benefit this year will not look like it usually does.  After 10 years of hosting this auction on our campus, we will have to do it a little differently this year and we have decided to host an online auction instead of a live auction. This was a hard decision to make.  I know our staff and many of you look forward to our Homecoming Benefit each year, and we will miss seeing you in person.  We have come to the conclusion that this is the right way to have our auction this year….and hopefully only this year….as we are very hopeful that we will be able to return to our “Normal Homecoming Benefit Weekend” next year. A detailed event schedule will be sent out soon and will include instructions on how to participate in our online auction.  If you would like to donate an item to be added to our auction, please call the Home at 309-923-2071.

Sunday 7/5 - Sunday School Election Ballots are Due - We plan to count the ballots this week and then interview the candidates.  The results of the election will be made known in several weeks.

Wednesday 7/8 - Memorandum - The Roanoke ministers will present the memorandum.  You will be able to listen to it live via phone and AC Central, but it will NOT be video streamed. It will be archived on AC Central.
