Sunday 2/14 - Annual All-Church Potluck and Family Sing at the Fellowship Hall at 4:30 - Meat and table service will be provided.  A donation to cover the cost of the meat will be accepted.  Please bring a covered dish.  Sign-up sheets are posted in the north hall and by the ladies restroom for those attending.  To order the proper amount of meat, please sign up by Wednesday, February 10th.

Saturday 4/16 - 2016 Midwest Food Bank Gala Dinner and Auction in Bloomington - The Roanoke committee is currently seeking homemade items, themed dinners or events, and business products or services as auctioned items. Cash donations will be used by the committee to purchase items for the gala. Tickets to the event are also available for $50 per person. Tables of up to 8 seats may be reserved for groups.  Please contact Bro. Jon & Sis. Jill Fehr or Bro. Roland & Sis. Carol Rumbold, for ticket reservations or donations. Additional information is posted in the north hall.

HarvestCall Winter Work Project in Bastrop Texas - Thirty volunteers are needed each week starting Feb. 7 and continuing through April 30th. Additional information is on the bulletin board and at HarvestCall.org
Berean Prison Ministry Needs Help Grading Bible Studies for Inmates -  These studies mean a great deal to the inmates and is the only mail most of them receive. The studies can be found in a box in the North Hall, along with answer keys and stamped envelopes. Please grade in red ink. It is imperative that if you take Bible studies home, that they are graded and sent in the mail as soon as possible. If you have questions, see Sis. Rebekah Schwind.
VBS Coordinator Needed - There is still a need for 1 or 2 couples to be coordinators for the VBS program this year. If anyone is willing to do this work for our church or has any questions about what it entails, please contact Bro. Scott Luginbuhl or  Bro. Drew and Sis. Amanda Leman
Small Group Bible Study on Joshua - This study is in a slightly different format than the previous studies and focuses on the events and lessons found in the book of Joshua. The winter session will begin on or about the second week of February and will be 16 sessions long, with each session lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Each member and friend of our Roanoke church is again encouraged to participate.   You may sign up by the forms in the North Hall or by calling or e-mailing Bro. Jeremy Knepp

Sunday 1/24 - Family Hymn Sing at the Home at 1:30

Wednesday 1/27 - 2nd Annual HarvestCall Family Night at the Fellowship Hall 5:30- 8:00 - All welcome to join us for an evening  of serving & praising God. Meal & babysitting are provided.  If you intend to use baby sitting for your baby or toddler, please text or e-mail Sis. Martha Braker.

  • HarvestCall Family Night Schedule
    • 5:30 - 6:30 Walk through meal (haystacks, fruit, and cookies).  When you have eaten, please go into the big room as a family and begin filling kits.
    • Projects for Haiti:  filling school & health kits & gift bags
    • Program:  Intermittently, stories of how God has worked during work trips or other service projects. All will stop in place to hear these exciting stories.
    • 7:45 Ending song followed with a benediction.
    • Note:  There will a collection jar to help pay for kits being made that night.  Kids-  let's try to fill the jar!!

The Silver Lining is Planning a Special Feature Article on Mothers - You are encouraged to contribute. The topic is: How has your mother influenced your walk with Christ?   • Services at the Peoria Rescue Mission from 8:00 - 9:00 AM - We are in need of a piano player and some voices to help singing. Bro Tim Hohulin will be conducting the service. For information please contact Bro. Tim Martin.

Supporting our Roanoke Missionaries -There are a variety of ways you can directly support Bro. Scott and Sis Mandy Yordy and family and Sis. Leah Bertschi.
  • most importantly PRAYER
  • gift packages, cards, letters (sign up sheet on bulletin board)
  • While the Yordy family serves in Haiti, AC HarvestCall will pay travel expenses for them to return to the USA 1 time per year. Recognizing there may be a need for them to return more frequently for holidays or special occasions, a travel fund is being established to cover travel expenses. This is consistent with what other congregations who have families serving as missionaries have done. Those wishing to donate to the travel fund can make checks payable AC HarvestCall with “Yordy travel” in the memo and give them to Bro. Sunday 1/10
  • Bible Class is at the Peoria County - They are to meet at the HS parking lot at 6:50 sharp. They need to be at the jail no later than 7:45 so it is important to leave on time. After the jail they will stop for lunch and will be back in Roanoke between 1 and 1:30
  • Morton Church Legacy Singing at 6:30 - Morton is in the process of building a new church.  Before they tear down their current church, they have set aside several evening in 2016 for Legacy Singings to give the churches in Illinois an opportunity to worship with them.  Roanoke and several other churches have been invited on January 10th.  If you can attend this singing, please contact Sis. Megan Hodel.
