August’s Collection- HarvestCall Servant Fund
Special HarvestCall Disaster Fund Collection for August - The massive earthquake in southern Haiti devastated tens of thousands of homes, wrecked businesses, flattened churches, and battered Hospital Lumiere’s campus. Our desire is to assist the hurting, directly through our ministries in Haiti, and also by funding other organizations that specialize in disaster relief. Please prayerfully consider a financial donation as the Lord leads.
Friday 8/27 - Saturday 8/28 Nursing Home’s Homecoming Benefit Weekend - A drive thru fish fry will be held on the 27th from 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Each meal is $10 and includes Fried Fish, Green Beans, Coleslaw, Rye Bread, & a Chocolate Chip Cookie
The need for cookies for the Nursing Home’s drive thru Fish Fry has been filled! The cookies should be dropped off at the Nursing Home on Thursday before 4:30. Thank you so much for your support.
Sunday 8/29 -Sunday School Starts at 9:45 - The 3 year olds thru 2nd grade meet in their classrooms and the 3rd grade on up meet in the big assembly room. Kids should be downstairs by 9:45. The Sunday School thanks you all for your prayers and support!
Moving Forward Update
The number or surveys turned in was amazing and was significantly higher than any Sunday School election. The level of sharing exceeded anything we have ever seen at church or our work situations. As we read through the responses, we were encouraged and feel like we have a better understanding of the heart of the church. There is a strong feeling of appreciation and love in our church family and a clear indication that our church family is very special to all.
We ask for your patience as we process all the information (approximately a 100 pages of thoughts and ideas). Developing a plan takes time and needs to be coordinated with many aspects of our church (e.g., Nursing Home Sunday services, youth choir, our surrounding A.C. churches, etc.) Our goal is to have a summary to present to the church around the end of September.
Other Ways to Serve
Berean Bible Studies - a new batch of Bible studies are in the back hall that need grading.

Note of Thanks - From the family of Tammy Kennell: We would like to thank you for the outpouring of love and support for Tammy during this difficult time. She received many cards, gifts, and flowers to celebrate her 40th birthday. As her cancer journey progressed, they continued to arrive, along with encouraging notes and assurances of prayer for her. We as a family were strengthened by these and are blessed to see the love of Christ radiate from your church.
