6/28/15 Announcements

Sunday 6/28 - Sunday School Picnic at 4:30 at the Roanoke Park Building - Sign up sheets for those who can attend are on the bulletin board by the lady’s restroom.

Monday 6/29 - Church basement remodel – Work will start tomorrow morning, on the basement bathrooms. Help is needed to take out partitions, fixtures, and floor tile beginning at 8:30 AM. Contact Bro. Brent Hodel if you have questions.

Friday 8/7 - Brotherhood Conference in Morris, MN - If you plan to attend, please signup on the bulletin board by today. For additional information, please contact Bro. Matt Feucht.

Friday/Saturday 8/21-22 - The Nursing Home Benefit - There are forms located on the two bulletin boards to fill out if you are able to donate a new item or service for the auction. It is beneficial to advertise these items ahead of time, so please have your donation forms turned in by July 13. If you have any questions, please contact Sisters: Cheryl Baurer, Joyce Hodel, or Carol Knapp.

High School WOW - will not have their regular Wednesday meetings for the months of July and August. If there are any WOW activities scheduled during July or August it will be announced.

Sunday 6/21 - Family Hymn Sing at the Nursing Home at 1:30

Monday 6/29 - Church basement remodel – The trustees are planning to remodel the basement bathrooms. Approximately 10 volunteers are needed to help Monday, June 29th

at 8:30 am. Any questions contact Bro. Brent Hodel or any of the trustees.

Saturday 8/1 - The 2015 Gateway Woods Auction - Donated items need to be registered and tagged by July 25th. There is also a need for volunteers during the sale. Please contact Bro. Brad or Sis. Patty Hodel for more information.

Friday 8/7 - Brotherhood Conference in Morris, MN - If you plan to attend, please signup on the bulletin board by June 30th. For additional information, please contact Bro. Matt Feucht.

Sunday 8/23 - Atlanta Church Dedication - Information about the Open House and Dedication for the new facility in Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA is posted on the bulletin board.

Announcements - Church announcements can be viewed on the church website. Sunday’s announcements will be posted on Saturday for those who want to view them in advance or for people to notify Bro. Frank of any changes/additions they may want to make to the announcement.

Thanks - Thank you very much for the generous donations collected for the Sunday school children in Le Cayes Haiti. All boxes were full and some were overflowing. If anyone still wants to donate clothes you can drop them off at Bro. Rob & Sis. Gina's home before the end of June.

Friday 6/19 - Father-Son Campout - will be at Bro. Ed Sauder’s lake. There is a signup sheet and information in the back hall for those who wish to attend. Please sign up so we have an idea of how many to expect in order to provide an evening and morning meal. If you have any questions or would like to help with this event, contact Bro. Robey Shuck.

Sunday 6/21 - Senior Breakfast at 8:30 at the Fellowship Hall - All Bible Class students, converted seniors, parents of seniors, Bible Class teachers and their wives are invited to attend.

Saturday 8/1 - The 2015 Gateway Woods Auction - Please keep these deadlines in mind:

If you have a unique or high value item that could be used to help promote the Sale, pictures and descriptions need to be sent in by June 18th to be included in the Gate Post Auction Flyer.
Cash donations need to be in by July 20th to allow staff members time to purchase items for the sale.
Donated items need to be registered and tagged by July 25th.

There is also a need for volunteers during the sale. Please contact Bro. Brad or Sis. Patty Hodel for more information.

Part Time CNA Positions Available at the Roanoke Nursing Home - If you are interested in working 2nd or 3rd shift, please contact Sis. Megan Hodel.

U of I/ Parkland - If anyone will be attending the University of Illinois or Parkland Community College during the 2015-16 school year, there is a signup sheet on the bulletin board along with additional information about the coming school year.

Sunday 6/7 - Prairie Choristers Practice at 11:25 in the Intermediate Room

Tuesday 6/9 - Helping Hands from 9:00-12:00

Haiti Collection - We are collecting gently used items for the children at the Renault sunday school program which the Yordys have been actively supporting. Renault is one of the poorest slums of Les Cayes, Haiti, and every Sunday, God’s word is shared with 1000-1200 children. These are the following items needed, if you would like to donate:

Boys & Girls summer clothing, size 3 mo - 16 (big kids)
Shoes- sandals, dress shoes, flip flops, gym shoes all sizes from toddler to adult
Book bags or messenger bags all sizes

Please bring these by June 14 and place them in the boxes at the east and west entrances. If you have any questions, ask Sis. Gina Luginbuhl.

Tuesday 6/2 - Helping Hands Cancelled - Due to VBS, Helping Hands will not meet this week, but will meet next week on Tuesday the 9th from 9:00-12:00

Vacation Bible School - Will be held this week

New Students - Please list names for incoming 3 year olds as well as children who are not on the Sunday School roster.
Food and Waiter Help - Signup sheets are on the women's bulletin board.
Craft Helpers - Sign-up sheets for help with VBS crafts are also posted in the north hall.
Class Supplies - 4th-6th grade boys should bring a heavy-duty scissors, labeled with their name, to the Bible Class assembly room for their craft.
VBS Speakers - The list of VBS speakers and topics are posted on the north bulletin board.
VBS Seating - The Bible Class teachers and ushers would encourage people to sit farther up during the week of VBS. The ushers would request that we leave the back three or four rows of benches empty. The next several rows would have priority for parents with small children. Ushers will be present in the sanctuary to encourage people to sit farther up. The Bible Class would greatly appreciate your support.
VBS Teacher Meeting - There will be a brief teacher meeting for all VBS teachers at 11:45 today in the intermediate Sunday School room
