Sunday, 6/24 -

●     Bible Fund Collection

●     Sunday School Picnic - The annual Sunday School Picnic will be today at 4:30 at the Countryside School.  Even if you did not get your name on the sign-up sheet, please feel free to attend as we are planning on many more attending than the number that signed up.

 

University of Illinois and Parkland College

If you or someone you know will be attending the University of Illinois or Parkland Community College in the fall, please refer to the New Student Welcome on the bulletin board. A response is desired by July 1st.

 

Donating Items for the Upcoming Nursing Home Benefit

There are forms on the (2) bulletin boards to fill out if you are able to donate a new item or a service.  It is very beneficial to advertise the items ahead of time.  In order to do this, please have your forms filled out by July 10th.  If you have any questions, please see Sis. Kathy Knapp or Sis. Lynne Hodel.

Friday, 7/13 -  "A Christ-Centered Approach to Encouraging Others" by ACCFS

This presentation details a number of specific and doable things that the Body of Believers can do to support and encourage others. This presentation includes suggestions that are focused on making the "climate" within your church a loving and safe place for people to share their burdens. Specific suggestions for what to do (and not do) when trying to support and encourage others are discussed.  This seminar will be held at the fellowship hall on Friday 7/13 from 7:00 - 9:00.

Sunday, 6/17

●     Family Sing at the Nursing Home at 1:30.  All are welcome to attend.

●     If you donated a breakfast casserole for the Bible Class Senior Breakfast, thank you and you may pick up your pans in the church beverage room.

Monday, 6/18 - The Bloodmobile will be at the American Legion from 12:00-6:00

Tuesday, 6/19 - Midwest Food Bank

It's Roanoke's turn to volunteer at the Midwest Food Bank this Tuesday evening, June 19, from 6:30-8:30.

Wednesday, 6/20 - Worship on Wednesday will be at Bro. Dave Leman’s home at 7:00

Tuesday, 6/12 - Helping Hands 9:00-12:00

They could use several helpers to unpack supplies for kits in addition to our usual projects.

Wednesday, 6/13 - H.O.P.E.

H.O.P.E girls plan to meet for the last time this year on this coming Wednesday, June 13th. Please drop off the girls at Caleri's at 5:30 for dinner and activities. Parents can pick up the girls at Caleri's between 8:30 and 9:00.

Sunday, 6/17 - Senior Breakfast at 8:30

The Senior Breakfast is next Sunday at the Fellowship Hall. All Bible Class Students, Seniors and the parents of Seniors, Bible Class teachers and their wives need to arrive by 8:30.

There will be a Bible study presentation entitled "A Christ-Centered Approach to Encouraging Others" given by Apostolic Christian Counseling and Family Services (ACCFS) on Friday, July 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the fellowship hall.  Details are posted on the north hall bulletin board.

Sunday 6/3 – Baptisms - Mindy Bradle and Jena Moser.

June 4th - 8th - VBS

●     There is still a need for several table waitresses for VBS this week.  You can still sign up to help on the bulletin board.

●     On Wednesday night after VBS, Bible Class will put together the journey bags for The Journey Bag Project at the Fellowship hall.

●     Speakers for the week are as follows:

○     Monday - Bro. Clark Stoller - Building with God’s Power

Sunday 5/27 – World Relief Collection

            Our opportunity to give today is to support the many project and programs of World Relief.

Sunday 5/27 - Due Date for the Journey Bag Project for Foster Children

Today all items for the Journey Bag Project for Foster Children are due.  Thank you for your support of this project.

Saturday 6/2 and Sunday 6/3 - Testimonies and baptisms

This Saturday evening we will have the opportunity to hear the testimonies of Mindy Bradle and Jena Moser.  Testimonies will begin at 7:00.  Lord willing we look forward to baptisms next Sunday.

Sunday 6/3 – Sign up sheet – Food for baptisms

            Sign up sheets are on the bulletin board for help next Sunday with food donations and waiting tables.

June 4th - 8th - VBS –

Various sign up sheets for 3 year old students, craft helpers, food donations, and waitresses are on the bulletin board.

Sunday June 17^th – Senior Breakfast

On Sunday, June 17^th there will be a breakfast for Bible Class graduating seniors, converted seniors, and all their parents.  Please contact Sis. Linda Pfister to offer assistance.

VBS - June 4th - 8th

Due to some organizational changes, the sign up sheets are different than in the past. 

●     Student sign up  - For planning purposes, please sign up your child and any other visitors that plan to attend. We would also like to welcome all incoming (for the Fall 2012) 3 year olds to join us.

●     Craft helpers sign up

●     Food donations for the children (who will be served downstairs this year)

●     Food donations for the congregation

●     waitress sign up

4th-6th graders should bring heavy-duty scissors. Please label it with your name and take it to the 4th-8th Craft Cabin located in the High School Assembly.
