Sunday 10/14 - Collection for the Nursing Home

 

Wednesday 10/1

●     HOPE  - girls will be meeting at the Fellowship Hall at 7:30p.m.  This is the first event of the school year and all 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls are welcome!

●     Worship on Wednesday  - will be at Bro. Dave and Sis. Stacy Leman's house at 7:00.

 

Friday/Saturday 10/19-20 - "Hope for Haiti"  Open House - The " Hope for Haiti"  Open House featuring handmade items from Centre Lumiere, Haiti will be this Friday from 12 -8 pm and Saturday from 9 - 12 at the Fellowship Hall. Please join us in supporting these Haitian women and keep them in your prayers. 

 

Friday 10/19 - Loving Shepherd Ministries Meal and Auction at Five Points at 5:30

LSM will be hosting a meal and charity auction for the orphans of Haiti and Ethiopia at Five. The meal and Silent Auction start at 5:30 and the Live Auction at 6:30. There will be free childcare provided. Visit www.loving-shepherd.org to learn more about what the evening will be supporting.

 

Friday 11/2 - Hospital Lumiere Benefit Auction at Five Points

At Hospital Lumiere in Haiti, the past year has been busy with renovations and reorganization. By God's grace, the Hospital Lumiere mission continues – "to provide excellent and effective medical care with compassion and Christian love."  To raise awareness and provide financial support for this World Relief project, a benefit auction is planned on Friday November 2nd at Five Points in Washington, Illinois.  A food court and silent auction will open at 5:30pm. The live auction will begin at 7:00pm. Auction items are still being accepted. If you can help by donating an item, contact Rich Bertschi at hospitallumiere@mtco.com or 309-467-2351.

World Relief Winter Work Project 2013 at Cullman, AL (near Athens) - The WR Winter Work Project will be a continuation of last years project in Cullman, AL (near Athens) to build and repair homes damaged by tornadoes.  It will will begin on January 7. Please sign up in the north hall. Monday 10/8 - Funeral Service for Sis. Mabel Bowald at 10:00 Wednesday 10/10 - Wednesday Evening Service - We plan to listen to the final conference message "The Reward to the Overcomer" by Bro. ●     Scripture Memory Begins

●     Worship on Wednesday - The next Worship on Wednesday will be at Bro. Chad and Sis. Brenda Martin's house this Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00.

●     Continuation of the Conference Message - This Wednesday evening we will continue listening to the Brotherhood Conference Messages.  The next topic would be Christ's Message to Philadelphia by Bro. Ron Messner.  We've invited him to Roanoke to give this talk in person.  This will been done for our Sunday afternoon service on October 28.   So, this Wednesday we will begin with Christ's Message to Laodicea (Bro. Brad Eisenmann) and Our Responsibility to the Lord's Warnings to the Church (Bro. Mike Leman).

 

Friday 10/5 - Home for the Handicapped Presentation at the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 PM

The Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped will be giving a presentation October 5 at 7 pm in the Roanoke Fellowship Hall. The purpose of the presentation is to update you on the services of the Home, the ways the Lord has blessed it and their current needs. Everyone is invited. The Home is a mission of the Apostolic Christian Church and they encourage you to come and learn about what you are supporting.

●     How We Do it: A review of our Stewardship

●     Why we do what we do: Recorded Testimonies from Residents and Families

●     What our needs are: Spiritual, Financial and Staffing

Sunday 9/23

●     ACYF in Cissna Park - ACYF is today at Cissna Park.  The Bible Class will be traveling by bus.  The bus will be leaving the Roanoke Benson High School parking lot at 2:15 Sunday afternoon.  Please arrive a few minutes early. We expect the bus to return to the high school around 9:30 – 9:45.

●     Small Group Bible Study on Forgiveness Sign up Deadline - A small group Bible study on forgiveness will begin in October.  There will be 8 sessions with each session lasting approximately 1 hr. and 15 min.  Each member and friend of our church is encouraged to participate. Please sign up by filling out a sheet in the back hall or by e-mailing brothers John Getz or Rob Luginbuhl. Today is the last day for sign up.

Wednesday 10/3 - Scripture Memory Begins

Scripture Memory will start on Wed. night, October 3rd. The children will be bringing home a letter from Sunday School today.

9/16/2012 Announcements

Sunday 9/16

●     Men's Singing Group - For those interested in a men's singing group, there will be a brief informational meeting today at 11:30 in the intermediate Sunday School room.

●     Family Hymn Sing at the Nursing Home at 1:30

●     Peoria Rescue Mission at 7:30 - Roanoke is scheduled to have church services at the Peoria Rescue Mission at 7:30 pm. this evening.  (Please note the start time has been changed from 6:00  to 7:30.)  There is still a need for people to support this ministry.  Anyone willing to take part, please contact  Bro. John or Sis. Jill Bradle.

Wednesday 9/19

●     ACTIVE - The Jr. High boys in ACTIVE will meet this Wednesday evening. They will meet downstairs in the World Relief Room. They are asked to bring 2 packages of pillowcases.

●     Worship on Wednesday - The next Worship On Wednesday for our high school students will be this Wednesday at 7PM at Bro. Todd and Sis. Andrea Harris's home. We are beginning to occasionally change locations, so we would ask the parents and students to be mindful of this. The times and locations of the Worship On Wednesday evenings are also located on the church calendars. If you have any questions please call Bro. Scott Luginbuhl.

●     Crown Biblical Financial Study Sign Up Deadline - It has been five years since the Roanoke Church first conducted the Crown Biblical Financial Principles Bible Study.  A sign-up sheet has been posted on the north hall bulletin board for those who may be interested in participating in the study.  Please sign up by this Wednesday, Sept.  19th
