Memorial Day Weekend 5/26-27 - Alabama/Tennessee Weekend

If you are interested in attending the Alabama/Tennessee Memorial Day Weekend, please contact Sis. Sarah Hodel by Sunday May 13th.

Sunday 5/27 - Due Date for Pack the Bag with Love

We have the opportunity again this year to fill “Journey bags” for children needing to be taken from their homes and placed in foster care.  This project will provide personal belongings and comforting items for displaced children. These are items they often have to leave behind due to the unfortunate circumstances they innocently find themselves in as they are removed from their homes.

Our goal is to fill 100 book bags, but the process will be a little different than last year.  Each of the needed items is printed on a card.  If you would like to participate, you may pick up the cards in the back hall.  Feel free to take as many as you would like.  Please return your items to the box in the South East Entry by Sunday, May 27.  During VBS, the Bible class will fill the book bags with the donated items.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support and generosity.  The bags we filled last year were a huge blessing to the children who received them.  Please see Bro. Jake or Sis. Betsy Zimmerman with any questions.

VBS - June 4th - 8th

Due to some organizational changes, the sign up sheets are different than in the past. 

●     Student sign up  - For planning purposes, please sign up your child and any other visitors that plan to attend. We would also like to welcome all incoming (for the Fall 2012) 3 year olds to join us.

●     Craft helpers sign up

●     Food donations for the children (who will be served downstairs this year)

●     Food donations for the congregation

●     waitress sign up

4th-6th graders should bring heavy-duty scissors. Please label it with your name and take it to the 4th-8th Craft Cabin located in the High School Assembly.

Looking Ahead:  

Wednesday 5/16 - Registration Deadline for the Nursing Home Jr. Volunteer Program

The Nursing Home will again be starting the Jr. Volunteer program for the summer.  Any student 6th grade thru High school is welcome to participate.  Information was sent home with the students from school.  Sign up for this program must be completed by May 16.  Please contact Sis. Patsy Kaeb with any questions.

Saturday 5/26 - Midwest Gospel Sing Benefit for Lifesong and Timberridge

The Midwest Gospel Singing will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 6:00-9:00 at the ISU Performing Arts Centre in Normal.  The groups that are singing at this fundraiser are:  Brush Arbor, Living Waters, Amazing Love, Solid Rocks as well as congregational singing.  The proceeds from this fundraiser will be given to Lifesong for Orphans and Timberridge (Home for the Handicapped).  Please call Bro.
